19 short stories about New Yorkers making startling connections and discoveries--proving once again that Manhattan's residents are just as striking as the city's celebrated skyline.
Many of these stories have been previously published in literary journals--including RiverSedge, Lullwater Review, Limestone, Argestes, The Chariton Review, Soundings East, Queer Ramblings Magazine, The Nassau Review, Wisconsin Review, The Dirty Goat, and Eureka Literary Magazine. Two stories have been published online--on The Circle, the website of Circle Magazine, and at the Edinburgh International Internet Festival 2002.
Some of these stories inspired--or were inspired by--Fowkes's plays, including the plays, The Session, Couple of the Century, The Dakota, Scenes From the Dakota, Not Here Yet, The Seeker, Museum Piece, and Museum Lovers.
